The Refectory of Vatopedi. In front of the building which is called Trapeza there are two krinai.

The inside of the Trapeza. The tables are made of marble. The seats are on purpose as uncomfortable as possible.

Το εσωτερικό της Τράπεζας. Τα τραπέζια είναι μαρμάρινα. Τα καθίσματα στις Τράπεζες των Μονών δεν φημίζονται για την άνεση τους.
The κόγχη (niche) of the refectory. The place is reserved for the head of the monastery (hegoumen / ηγούμενος) if any and high rank guests and officials. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ In 1971 some monasteries had a hegoumen (abbot / head of the monastery) and some (for centuries) had not. The decision to have a hegoumen who is chosen for life, cannot be reversed. In present time (after 1992) all monasteries have a hegoumen. In the case of Sketes some do not have a hegoumen.

Η κόγχη της Τράπεζας. Το μέρος αυτό προορίζεται για τον ηγούμενο της μονής (αν υπάρχει) και για επιφανείς επισκέπτες και αξιωματούχους. _ _ _ _ _ _ Το 1971 ορισμένα μοναστήρια είχαν ηγούμενο (τα Κοινόβια) ενώ τα υπόλοιπα (τα Ιδιόρρυθμα) όχι. Η απόφαση να γίνει ένα μοναστήρι Κοινόβιο δεν αντιστρέφεται. Οι ηγούμενοι εκλέγονται για ισόβια θητεία. Μετά το 1992 όλα τα μοναστήρια είναι Κοινόβια, ενώ υπάρχουν ακόμα και Ιδιόρρυθμες Σκήτες.
