Apart from the Protaton, in Karyes, the capital of the monastic community, there are various other monastic buildings, buildings of the Greek government, stores etc. All monasteries with the exemption of Koutloumousiou monastery which is five minutes walk away, have buildings where their representatives live.

Εκτός από το Πρωτάτο, στις Καρυές, την πρωτεύουσα του Αγίου Ορους, υπάρχουν και διάφορα άλλα μοναστικά κτήρια, κυβερνητικά κτήρια, καταστήματα κλπ. Όλα τα μοναστήρια, με εξαίρεση αυτό του Κουτλουμουσίου, που βρίσκεται πέντε λεπτά με τα πόδια μακριά, έχουν κτήρια (κονάκια) που διαμένουν οι αντιπρόσωποι τους.
